This tea kettle is great for heating water. However it drips water out of it's nostrils on the stove while heating water because of steam condensation. Also, it is messy when poring water from it into cup.

The duck head is made of plastic and melts during heating.
While this makes for an interesting aesthetic effect as my duck drools green molten plastic all over my stovetop until his head collapses into a mass of goo, this is not too useful in terms of the ultimate practical use of the kettle, which is to boil water. Water full of green plastic goo is not effective for me, and would probably make my tea taste funny if I were desperate enough to drink it.
A metal or thermoset plastic head (such as bakelite) would have been a better choice for this product.

I got this tea kettle for my dad for Christmas. He loves ducks and loves this kettle. It's a little bigger than I thought and holds more water and heats up nicely. However, it doesn't exactly whistle, it gives off a hum/buzz sound instead. But that's ok, my dad enjoys it and that's what counts!
