Adagio Teas 3 UtiliTEA Variable-Temperature 30-Ounce Electric Kettle

Comment: This is a very nice small teakettle. The design is sleek and simple, and it doesn't take up much room on the counter. The only thing I'd change is the cord-- it's heavy and doesn't wind around the base like some models to keep it out of the way. But if you're looking for a stylish, small kettle, this is a good one. We liked it so well, we bought a second one for our camper.

Comment: heats quickly, hot setting is PERFECT for brewing strong coffee, awesome variable temp for tea; it's sleek, understated, and takes minimum room; do not fill over the "maximum" level marker or it will leak (duh meter); is intuitive; stainless steel inside cleans easily & top opens to a right angle so it's easy access; is quiet - important in a shared office setting; great value!

Comment: I LOVE this kettle. I use it daily. I received it as a gift and didn't think it would make life *that* much easier, but it really has. I simply press the start lever and off it goes. It heats water quickly and evenly for all sorts of tea- I tend to drink mostly black and oolong teas and have found that I can achieve the perfect temperature for both using the temperature dial on the bottom of the kettle. I know there is some concern that the temperature gauge could be more precise, but the fact is that something like that would require a thermostat and drive the price of the kettle way up. I'm very happy with the dial provided, it's a nice extra.

I also like the little "window" on the side of the kettle, not only to check on water level but also to "see" temperature. What I mean is that I can see how hot the water is (by amount and size of bubbles and steam) and that, to me, is more of a gauge of the water's readiness than the temperature knob or light switching off.

The kettle holds enough water for two uses of my Adagio Ingenuitea- 12 ounces each cup of tea, or about 24 ounces total. I DO always fill it above where I am supposed to, I admit.

Also great for things like instant soups and oatmeals, etc.

My only wish is that it had a sound (a "ding" or something) for when the water reached temperature/kettle switched off because often I leave the kettle to do something else and I miss the switching off. I also wish that it held slightly more water since I drink tea so often, but if it did have a larger capacity, I think it would be a much larger kettle and therefore not as quick to heat water or as easy to stow away in a corner of the kitchen counter when not in use.

My other wish was that the opening on top was slightly larger so I could get my hand inside to clean it out (and I have tiny hands!). I have to reach in with a brush and it takes longer to clean (which it doesn't require often- maybe every few weeks at the most) than if I were able to reach in with my hand and quickly wipe the kettle out.

I couldn't imagine life without it.

Comment: This kettle does just what you expect it to. Boil water! Only you can adjust the temperature so green tea won't be bitter or over-boiled. Works quickly too!

Comment: Have purchased several of these, they heat fast, work great, and the best feature is the ability to determine at which temp you want the kettle to shut down. Great for a college dorm, (shutoff required) for soups, drinks, etc. Just the right size!
