A life-saver on our trip to Europe,

This hotpot was invaluable on the trip to Europe I made last spring. I only ate out a few times, instead choosing to get food at local grocery stores. This was great for coffee in the mornings (rather than spending $5 at a coffee shop.) I also used it for instant noodles, instant soup, and frequently for hot tea in the evenings.
Now that I'm back in the land of 110 volts, I find I still use it whenever I want a small amount of hot water. I also take it whenever I plan to stay overnight in a hotel, and several times I've been very glad I had it along. The tiny cups that came with it are cute, but too small for actual use by an adult human.
Pros: Portable; dual-voltage; easy to clean; looks nice; good quality.
Cons: A little expensive; doesn't automatically switch voltage, so there's a chance that if you forget to flip the switch, you'll fry it; included cups are useless; cord gets a little unruly - retractable would be better.

I bought this item to use in my office, so that I wasn't constantly using the microwave. It is a very convenient small size and works as I hoped it would. So glad I decided to buy it!

I need a water boiler to use in West Africa and I decided to get this one because I wasn't sure whether I'd be able to find a decent one where I was staying. I couldn't find many 240-250V kettles in the US and this was the cheapest and lightest I came across.
I haven't used it much yet since I'm still stateside, but it's not exactly what I hoped for, given the price. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to send it back. The construction is okay, although when I opened it one of the rubber feet had already almost come off. I'm sure that's just a random packaging defect. It's a little heavier than I anticipated, almost as heavy as my trusty 32 oz. capacity Rival hot pot. It's definitely tiny, though. The lid doesn't flip up: it kind of pops off awkwardly and the unit is clearly intended for pouring with the lid on. The unit gets very hot and steam escapes from the cracks and the edges of the "ON" button, so be careful. The written instructions are pretty silly. Here's an...Read more
