I was let down by the shoddy quality of this kettle:
1) whistle didn't work;
2) cheap plastic handle was too hot to touch, even on the LOWEST heat (you WILL get a burn, if you hold it more than 2 seconds);
3) metal button also too hot to touch, even on the LOWEST heat (whose bright idea was it to use a metal bottom?);
4) 2.5 quarts? Not by a long shot. It held much less than 2 quarts, before it reached the spout line. (And to make sure I wasn't imagining things, I poured the water into the 2.5 quart kettle I was trying to replace: the water was an inch below the spout line of that one.)
Bottom line: there are far better budget-priced kettles out there. This one is a waste of money, at any price.
