Whispering kettle,

There are 2 main functions the typical tea kettle is expected to perform: to allow for water to be boiled in it and to whistle when water boils. Ms. D. bought this one because the to replace a model that required us to manually open the spout cover to be able to pour the liquid out (not safe enough for the kids). It's good at boiling water but its whistle is more of a whisper.
It comes with a full plastic handle that does not get hot and allows us to open the spout by simply squeezing a button on the handle. The heavy, stainless steel body can handle up to 1.9 liters (half a gallon) it allows for the contents to stay warm for a reasonably long time. The design is what it is - see picture - you may or may not like it.
The one issue, and this may be a 'no buy' for some is the not so loud whistle, really a whisper. Some kettles' whistles are too loud and and produce annoying, irritating sounds but this one is at the other extreme and you can barely hear it. If you...Read more
