Calphalon 2-Quart Stainless Steel Tea Kettle with Whistle

I must have read an hour's worth of reviews for tea kettles before I set my eyes on this one. It had no reviews. I purchased it anyways, because it looked so elegant in a streamlined way, and it had the features I was looking for: a whistle, a larger capacity, an easy-pour handle, and a stainless steel spout cover (the spout cover on my last kettle was plastic that melted and cracked, probably into the water that became tea).
I've had it for about month, and it works great, and looks beautiful with a simple and modern design. I'm very pleased with this kettle.

This kettle heats water quickly, is completely stable, pours accurately and easily, is well-constructed, and looks nice sitting on the stove. This is the best teakettle I've ever used.

I ordered this based on the previously posted reviews. I was disappointed when I took it out of the box. It is a very lightweight stainless steel and doesn't appear to have any multi-ply bottom. I elected to go ahead and use it since I didn't anticipate that I would find anything else any better in that price range. I did end up returning it. After 3 weeks of use it started to rust and corrode where the whistle cap closes on the pouring spout.
