Calphalon Tea Kettle, Apple Green

I am a big fan of Calphalon. This tea kettle is great--I own the red one since that matches my kitchen, but the apple green is also a nice hue. It's enamel-coated, both inside and out (inside is black). It is sized just right, and the lid stays secure but isn't too hard to take off. On the inside top of the handle is the lever that controls the spout cover. Very easy to pour since the moment you pick it up, the spout opens.

Why only four stars, then? (I'm leaning more towards 3.5, but rounded up.): The whistle barely whistles. If you're like me and walk away from the stove to do other things while you're waiting for your tea, you may not hear it. Even when standing right next to it when the water is boiling, it peeps at a very meek volume.

If you like to boil water in absolute silence, you're golden. Otherwise, stick close to the stove while your H20's heating to 212° or keep clicking to find another kettle.
