We have had this electric kettle for three months. It has been in use almost daily. It does its job quickly. The spout pours better than most pitchers we own. I would recommend this kettle for anyone that wants a reliable kettle but also looks nice on the counter top.

After some use, a little scale was forming on the bottom. The instructions included a remedy for this -- guess what -- it worked like a charm and in 5 minutes the kettle was as clean as it was when we unpacked it.

Four stars from us. It would have been five if the price was a little lower.

The Chef's Choice glass kettle started malfunctioning within 2 weeks of purchase. The lid would open only after repeatedly pressing the Open button. About 8-10 days later, the kettle started switching itself off and on every few seconds. Needless to say, the water hardly got hot, let alone boil.
A poorly made and unreliable product. Avoid it. I'm sorry Amazon does not give an option of zero stars.

This kettle is a complete waste of money. The water tastes and smells heavily like plastic after boiling. I made calls to Chef's Choice customer service, and they said to try boiling water with baking soda or vinegar to remove the smell and taste, but that made no difference. The lid mechanism has also failed within just two months of use, so now we have to pry the lid open with a spoon to fill it. Do yourself a favor, and spend your money on a different product. This one is garbage.
