This Copco teakettle is easy to pick up when hot, as it has a cool handle. Even the lid can be removed without burning a finger when the kettle is hot, which is handy for refilling right away. However, the manufacturer recommends using only medium heat, so it takes much longer to heat water than I was used to. The whistle is loud enough to hear from another room. When the water level gets low, the kettle does not pour a straight stream, and water can splash outside the pouring target area. I like that there is no seam around the bottom, as that is where my last kettle began to leak.

I read a lot of kettle reviews - never thought buying a tea kettle would be so complicated - so here's the result. This kettle meets many of the concerns expressed by buyers. 1 - it has No Bottom Seam. Thats a critical flaw in a lot of kettles. 2. it has a useful filling lid. 3. it has a whistle that can be heard. No funny low whooing or internal reeds to mess with. 4. it is made of sturdy metal. 5. it has a handle that works. 6. its good looking. 7. it holds 2 quarts. I bought this because of these attributes and I think its the best buy of all those featured when I got it. I did learn to turn down the heat so as not to heat the handle rather than the water. Watch the side of your kettle. If its steaming, high flame is shooting up past the bottom and reaching the handle above. This does not do the kettle any good. If this one is left to whistle away, a little steam blasts up into the handle and heats it on the front. This is a leak and not perfect but its not critical. The handle...Read more

Good teapot with a great whistle,

We got a red one that looks great. The teapot is easy to fill, pours well, is easy to clean, and has a loud whistle that really works. The only downside is that it is heavy. If you can handle the weight, I think you'd be happy with it because it does well all that a teakettle should do.
