Just received my new Copco Mirage Polished Stainless Steel Tea Kettle, eager to try it out. So disappointed! The instructions say "don't turn the burner higher than medium" -- on my electric stove, it takes forever to reach a weak boil at this setting. Worse, the whistle DOES NOT WORK. Even when it is boiling as much as it can, and there is a fair amount of steam coming out, the "loud whistle" is extremely faint -- it cannot be heard at all from more than one foot away from the stove - seriously!
(The "heat resistant handle" also is misleading -- the instructions actually say ALWAYS USE A POTHOLDER.)
This kettle is supposed to be Stainless Steel. So why do the instructions say that it must be carefully wiped dry inside after each use, in order to avoid rust? I use this teakettle daily. I love
the fact that is it so lightweight
and holds just the right amount for
a couple cups of coffee/tea. Easy to
clean and looks nice sitting on my stove!

I love this stainless steel tea kettle, and have had several of them over the years. Prefer the polished stainless to the brushed. It's the perfect, smaller size. It's only drawback is that over time the whistle spout has broken off from use and probably from being heated over and over again, but this hasn't stopped me from repurchasing it. By the way, the whistle is LOUD and can be heard in another room, which is a good thing for me!
