If you want one where the paint won't fall off, don't get one with paint. There are plenty of similarly priced stainless steel kettles by Copco. I have dropped it, burned it, and scraped it alond my old stove-top. The paint is fine. The body is fine. And if you think the whistle doesn't work, then you are either not waiting until the water is REALLY boiling, or you are over-filling it. Tea kettle whistles are not designed to go off until the water boils. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By Avid Reader (Bay area, CA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Copco Odyssey Enameled Whistling Teakettle, White (Kitchen) I have had several tea kettles over the years and have had numerous problems with poor whistles, rust, leaking, chipped enamel and so on. This tea kettle is the best! It is enamel inside and out and super easy to clean. NO mineral build up on the bottom of the inside of the kettle. It has a nice loud whistle. The handle stays cool to the touch and the little ball on the pour spout cover is cool to the touch, so you never have to burn your fingers. Pours without running down the kettle. I am very pleased and would recommend this one! By This review is from: Copco Odyssey Enameled Whistling Teakettle, White (Kitchen) There is nothing wrong with this kettle.
