Imagine my surprise when the bowls turned out to be metal with a painted finish. Although nice looking, they are not what they appear to be. I would have described them as a 6 piece small tin set.

I absolutely love these. I ordered two sets, and I have not been disappointed. The other reviewer was right, they are metal tins, with plastic lids, but they are much heavier than I thought they would be based off of her review.
They are not dishwasher safe, and they are not microwave safe.
However, I bought them to store leftovers in, or to occasionally reheat food in the oven. For those uses they are perfect.
The plastic lids seal tightly, and I doubt that even soup would leak out of them.
All in all I LOVE them and I am overjoyed to have them. They will also be great to store pre-made salad in the fridge.

The bowl set is excellent in quality and the design is so soothing and simple. But keep in mind that it cannot be microwaved.
