For the first couple of weeks I thought this was the best tea kettle I'd had in years, but today after filling it with water, the handle suddenly broke off, sending water & parts all over. While it was an excellent tea kettle for a while, the cantilevered handle is UNSAFE!
I contacted Creative Home, & they shipped me a replacement kettle to replace it, a Creative Home Satin Splendor Metallic 2.8 Quart Whistling Tea Kettle, Cranberry in stainless, which has a handle that is anchored at two places, so I give them a big thumbs UP, and I unreservedly and highly recommend that model.
The one that broke was just great until it broke, good insulated handle, large capacity, good construction, and a strong whistle. I'll review the new one when I get it, but I seriously recommend you check out the model I linked to.

It has been a few weeks using this kettle and it is full of rust and falling apart.
The old adage of you get what you pay for is true. This item was very cheap.
And it shows. I dont know how much longer it will last, but I see myself buying
a better kettle soon.
