Product Review

Add a comfortable touch to your kitchen with the classic Cuisinart Heritage 2-Quart Teakettle. This kettle lets you know when water is boiling, with a spout that whistles... and then removes to pour. Curl up with a cup of tea and a good book, or prepare a kettle-full for friends. Comfortable grip handle makes pouring safe and easy. Satin finish stainless steel exterior is combined with a non-reactive stainless interior that is corrosion proof.

This is perfect for me to boil enough water to fill my pitcher for tea. It is loud enough for me to hear and the handle does not get hot.

This teakettle is a work of art and is nice to leave out on the stovetop at all times. As a boiling vessel, it works fine, but you can boil water is a washed bean can for all that is worth. The real issue with this kettle is when you want to get at the hot water. The spout stopper is made of plastic and fits INSIDE the spout. As a result of this terrible design, the stopper expands with the heat, making it difficult to remove. Using force to pull it out can be dangerous as any movement of hot kettle forces hot steam out of the holes, right into your unsuspecting hand. Knowing this fact, one can avoid injury, but othersnwhomare not familiar could end up getting burned. I would recommend another kettle that is just as attractive, but with some kind of lever to lift the stopper, keeping hands and fingers safely away from any danger.
