Find another coffee grinder. This is an awful product, as I'll describe in detail. 1-Design) Unlike other coffee grinders I've used, the top of this unit cannot be used to hold the product after grinding. So, if trying to measure for an espresso machine, you have to fight with the grinder bar in the bottom (that doesn't come out). It works "okay" for a drip coffee maker, but looks prettier than it is functional. 2-Quality) I got this for Christmas 2011. Today is January 29, 2012. After just one month, the unit failed. I used it roughly every other day, so a total of about 15 times. What a piece of junk! 3-Customer Service) I called Cuisinart Customer Service this morning about this failed unit. On the positive side, they were there on a Sunday and answered my call. On the negative side, the advice given was to "throw the unit away and buy another one". I had much higher expectations for a company of this size. I wish I had purchased this through Amazon because at least I know Amazon...Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Motor died after very few uses, April 22, 2012

Same situation as the one told by the previous user.
Received as a gift a year ago. We did not use it almost at all until last fall we bought a espresso machine.
After maybe less than 20 uses the unit died. As I'm a pretty good handyman I figured a switch failed. Surprise, looks like the electric motor is burned.
What a piece of junk. Why do companies like Cuisinart even put such products on the market. It's not rocket scince to test a product for 50 - 100 use cycles. I will never buy a Cuisinart again
