This item is indispensible, as hand-held thermometers or ones that clip onto a cup or pot are rather awkward to use. Bravo to Cuisinart for such as useful kettle!!

Comment: For those desiring to get the best flavor out of their tea with the least hassle this is an awesome product! It allows you to heat the water up to the optimal temperature without using a separate thermometer. It's important not to overheat or under heat the water for the best flavor, it varies by the type of tea. An earlier reviewer said it doesn't get the water any hotter than other tea kettles, it isn't supposed to though. You don't want to boil the water as it leaves less oxygen in the water and decreases the flavor as it was meant to be. I don't have the issue with the whistle falling out as others have. I love how easy it is to read and use and would highly recommend this product to any one who loves tea and wants the best flavor!

Comment: I researched kettles for days online and ended up buying this one. I have not been disappointed! The handle remains cool to the touch. I can hear the whistle from the other side of my house. The temp gauge is a great feature. I really like that the inside of the kettle is porcelain, so the flavor of the water isn't changed by metal or plastic. This is a great product, I highly recommend!
