This review is from: Demeyere Water Kettle: 4.5-QUART (Kitchen)
The Demeyere Water Kettle 4.5 qt from Chefs Catalog is a Resto by Demeyere with only a capacity of 4.2~4.25 according to the box. Made in Indonesia with only a two year non commercial warranty. The item description says 5 layer base the box it arrived in says 3 layer. This is a low end import not the original. It's a nice kettle but a long way from an original Demeyere 5 layer base, made in Belgium with a 30 year warranty which this is not. It is also very slow compared with boiling the same amount of water in an Alclad pot of the same diameter, on the exact same burner.

My only negative comments would be that I have to fuss with the lid a bit to get it to settle onto the pot, but I can live with that, and that I have to be careful when I've boiled a full pot of water and am pouring it out because it will overflow around the lid and splatter if I tip it too much before the level gets down enough inside the pot that I can tip it more steeply.
I love the way this lovely kettle looks on my stove. I love that it boils enough water, at one time, to fill our 12-cup French press and a full-size thermos with boiling hot water with a little extra water to spare.
This pot was worth every penny for its size and for how good it looks sitting on my stove. It's even prettier in person than online.

We've been using this kettle for over a month, & are very pleased with it. On our gas stove it takes 5 - 6 minutes to heat 30 oz of water.... The lid will not fall off while you're pouring if you twist it slightly; there's a mark on the lid for that purpose, I guess.... I chose this model particularly for the handle that can be turned down (although I've found that it doesn't get that hot, so I can leave it up while heating), and the long pour spout, which is great for pour-over coffee brewing. We've had to get used to not having a whistle, so now we usually set the stove timer to remind us, but that's minor compared to all the good qualities of this kettle.
