Need an extra hand in the kitchen? Farberware's Millennium Autopour teakettle steps into service with this clever vessel that actually frees up one of your own. Designed with a weighted spout (the external rigging is sure to pique curiosity), the whistle cap opens by itself as the kettle tips, then closes again when the kettle is set upright. No more pressing buttons or pushing levers, just tilt and pour! Made from durable enamel over steel, the 2-1/2-quart vessel also features a tall dome shape and broad base for a sleek modern profile and rapid heating. The stainless-steel whistle signals cheerfully when the water comes to a boil, and the arched Soft Touch silicone handle ensures a cool, ergonomic grip. The kettle also fills through the contrasting black top lid with oversized knob. Corrosion-, stain-, and chip-resistant, this handy tool requires minimal care for years of use. It is available in several richly glossy colors including black, white, cream, red, and cobalt, so there's a hue for any décor. --Kara Karll

This is a handsome and well-working piece of stove-top art, a very good meeting of form and function. I down-graded it from perfect for two reasons: first of all, the color is not really as it appears in the product picture. I would say it is a bit darker than medium blue, but not that dark-yet-brilliant look that truly qualifies as "cobalt" - and it is a noticeably lighter shade of blue than in the photo. Second, while it boils water in a reasonable amount of time, it is not as fast as I'd expect from its big, flat-bottom base (nor what I'd hope for in a kettle priced this high). In several timed tests (admittedly difficult to do with gas burners), it failed to clearly beat to the boil my old leaky no-name kettle that it replaced - mainly for better looks.
On the plus side: between the weighted spout and the excellent heat resistant handle, one handed-operation is safe, easy, and efficient - and the whistle is pleasantly pronounced. Bottom line, this kettle scores high...Read more

I suppose this tea pot works well enough but I am somewhat dissapointed. No where on the box does it say Faberware, I think this may be a knock off. It doesn't whistle very well at all because the whistle part does not sit against the teapot securely enough as the weight doesn't hold it against the teapot securely enough. It doesn't hold very much water either. If you try to put more water in it, the water bubbles out the top. All in all it works to boil water but it was not worth the money and as I said, I don't think it is a genuine Faberware product.
