I bought this kettle for its unique shape and color, which is fantastic. However this kettle is so loud when it is heating, you cannot hear the TV over it. It is louder than a toilet flushing or a vacuum cleaner running. It takes at least twice as long to heat water as did my old Bodum kettle and it is at least three times more noisier and a lot heavier. However it is a prettier color.

This is a beautiful kettle and adds a lovely decorative element to my kitchen. Works very well and the automatic shut off is great. Highly recommended.
