I had no idea trying to replace my defunct 20+ year old tea kettle was going to be such a hassle, and so expensive, so I finally gave up looking for the perfect one, and grabbed one I hoped would simply be functional. And this one is, though the metal is so thin, I do not expect this one to last very long. The handle is "pressed" into the metal of the body, in a rather haphazard and insecure looking fashion. It boils water, yes, but the whistle is relatively quiet...hard to hear from another room. I'm keeping an eye on it while on the fire, because I fear if I don't hear the whistle and the water boils away, it would not survive the error...the bottom is so thin, it ripples in my hand.
Fell apart,

Very disappointed - I pulled it out of the box and the spout lid/whistle fell off. I hope that the handle doesn't fall off because it has the same connection as the spout lid had. It is very thin so I am not sure it would last. I would not recommend this, sorry.
Happy with purchase,

this waS was a wise choice, of me, to chose this tea kettle. I like the size and how easy it is to handle.
