Stay away from this cheaply made kettle. It gets dangerously hot and the handle almost burned the skin off my palm. This is going back to the store.

The spout for the teapot needs to be mounted higher, but that would compromise design, apparently. This results in water spurting out of the spout rather than steam. In turn, this means you can fill the pot to about 1/2 of the total volume. If you are making tea for more than two or wish to make enough to have several cups, look elsewhere. Expensive for a teapot that will produce two cups per pot.
My first unpleasant experience with the brand ever. We own over a thousand dollars in Le Creuset gear but this is their only failure.

I purchased this teakettle because of its small size. It fits nicely on a small burner and thus does not hog space on the stove top. However the base of the pot is extremely thick and takes FOREVER to heat up and boil a pint of water. A thick bottomed pot may be suited for controlled heating of sauces but not for dedicated water boiling. Add to this the fact that a nickle sized piece of enamel split off near the bottom and I am not happy with the kettle.
