A very durable classic, if you follow the care instructions.,

I received one of these as a gift when I moved into my first apartment. I chose it because of the reputable name and the look of the kettle. I followed the care instructions - never filled it more than half way, never let water sit in it for more than a few hours - and the inside enamel never rusted or cracked. Unfortunately my old roommate had a kitchen mis-hap and burned the entire side of the kettle, which didn't effect the actual use of it but I didn't like the way it looked so I got rid of it. Now 4 years later I'm back to buy a second one because I loved it so much!

Love the color. Looks nice on the stove. So far seems to be working well. Some concerns about the reviews I've read re. rusting inside. It's not realistic to leave it empty on the stove...would be concerned about scorching if the burner was accidentally left on. In any case, at this point I am very happy w/the product.

My wife and I had one of these kettles for two years and it eventually rusted through. Apparently we weren't supposed to fill it fully or leave it filled with water? Both of those seem like really unusual requirements for something as simple as a tea kettle. I won't buy another.
