Summary: Elegant Tea Kettle plagued by Shale 2009-11-27
Comment: It merits five stars for the appearance, but only three stars given the way it holds up for the price (I've used it for 4+ years). The care instructions say that excess water should be poured out between uses to prevent shale from forming on the inside. If you pay for bottled water or filtered water, you may not want to dump out unused water. But even if you empty it as instructed, I doubt it would prevent the interior finish from deteriorating. Towel drying the inside after each use may prevent those metal blotches that look like rust, but it's hot in there! Handle stays cool. No problems pouring or filling. Lid stays securely in place even upside down. Exterior is super easy to clean with soap. I'm likely to buy another just because of how lovely it looks on the stove. The Kiwi shade is to-die-for!

Comment: I love the color and style of this teakettle, however, only after a month of use the enamel inside the kettle degraded and black paint and decorative metallic particles were leaking in my tea. I never abused it though! Highly disappointed!

Comment: The Halo tea kettle showed up as described from Amazon. The lid is tight fitting, but I wouldn't want a loose lid! The whistle is nice and loud and easily turned off by flipping up the whistle component.
I love the bright colors of Le Creuset and the halo didn't disappoint.

Summary: Great little pot 2009-05-02
Comment: This pot is a gorgeous shade of red and an adequate size. Heats well and has a nice whistle. The only downsize is the fact that the lid is hard to pull off when you want to refill it. On the plus side, it doesn't drip.

Comment: I tracked this kettle down on Amazon after a favorite couple listed it on their wedding registry at Macy's and it was no longer available there. I am told they love it and use it every day...and it goes with their other Le Creuset pots. The bride lived in France for a year and loves "things French".
