(Irvine, CA USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: OXO SoftWorks Click Click Tea Kettle I was looking for a decent kettle for weeks before I finally decided on the Oxo Click Click. The kettle isn't too expensive and works like a charm. The spout doesn't spray water everywhere and the whistle works everytime. The spout is very easy to open and close with the click click function, makes it really easy to fill with water, and the shape is great. The opening provides lots of room to clean the kettle.
I bought it as a gift for my mom on mother's day and everyone comments on the kettle's sleek and modern design. It looks great in the kitchen. I've only had the kettle for a month now but have found no problems yet. The kettle gets used quite a bit in our household, probably at least 6 times a day or more. (We drink a lot of coffee and tea throughout the day). I prefer the brushed steel over the polished steel and colored kettles. I was originally planning to get the polished steel (shiny) but when I saw it in person, it tends to look a little cheap in...Read more 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: OXO SoftWorks Click Click Tea Kettle This year alone I have gone through a number of kettles that were just poor quality though rather expensive. They were not what the product descriptions said they were. Not true of Oxo's Softworks Click Brushed Stainless Steel Kettle. My search has ended! I am a very fussy coffee drinker and tea drinker; however do not want to fool around with a lot of different types of precision and computerized appliances. I use a Melitta Drip filter with a glass carafe for coffee and ceramic or porcelain tea pots for all kinds of tea. A good kettle does well making both on any kind of stove top; mine happens to be a ceramic top at this time. This Oxo kettle is real stainless steel, heats ups pretty quickly on a medium to med-high setting, and is a dream to safely and easily pour boiling hot water for whatever you need. I do empty the kettle out every night to stay dry, and this helps avoid much in the way of mineral deposits. Heating any appliance on the highest settings of the newest electric...Read more Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: OXO SoftWorks Click Click Tea Kettle I like almost everything about this kettle -- the design, the ability to remove the lid in order to wash the inside, the feel of the weight in one's hands when pouring (I've got wrist issues, so this was a biggie). But the whistle doesn't seem to start up until it's at a raging boil. I'm having to learn to turn off the heat when a certain amount of steam is being emitted, but sometimes I get it wrong and the water is tepid. |
