Panasonic NC-EH22PC 2-2/7-Quart Electric Thermo Pot

Comment: I love this thermo! I can make tea and coffee right away when I get up in the morning without having to wait for water to boil. The 6 hour feature is brilliant as it saves on energy when we do not need hot water while we are away or asleep. Over tea time, the water can be kept at the temperature perfect for the tea I would be making.

This Thermo Pot is great! I timed it at about 15 mins for heating up a batch of water. It stays nice and hot all day, and holds a nice amount for two tea drinkers. Now and then on a busy day (when my son decides to have cup noodles) we have to refill it, but for the most part it lasts us the day.

Operating it is very easy as is cleaning it. I have never used the delay setting, so I cannot comment about that.

Comment: After reading a bunch of reviews (both positive and negative) about this pot and its bigger-sized brothers, I settled on the smaller one. We've now been using it for the last couple of months. We leave it plugged in and hot all the time. Our kids use it make hot cocoa for themselves, while we use it for tea. We fill it with filtered and softened (potassium chloride) well water, so we haven't had to clean it yet.

Overall, this pot works well. There are only a couple of things that could make it a full 5-star rating. One is a little better clarity within the instructions. I didn't realize that the unlock/lock light had to be 'on' in order to dispense. Seems a little counterintuitive, but that only took a few seconds to realize the problem.

The other item is that it may be too efficient a pot. Whenever it does the reboil (I usually unplug the pot when I fill it up with fresh water,) the blinking light that indicates the selected temperature can sometimes blink for hours. We usually have it set at 190. My guess is that the indicator light is merely waiting until the temperature has cooled down to 190 after it boils the water to 200+. So, sometimes I wonder if the water is done boiling. Other than the slight noise when it starts a reboil, I can't tell if its hot or not. It's just a slight nuisance that has little bearing on the functionality. I for one can't tell the difference between the taste of tea using 190 degree water vs. 212 degrees.

Comment: I bought this pot last year in August, and the lid of the pot go rust in just two month. The lid was shown made by stainless steel, then I contact with the customer service. They let me send this pot back to Panasonic, after two weeks, we gave me a funny evaluation about some tea residue found inside the thermol pot.

Doesn't it sound funny, why would someone bother to put the tea in the pot. Doesn't everyone just put the tea bag in the cup and get the boiling water from the pot? Plus everyone use the fork and knife everyday, do they also go rust, never!!!

I write this review not only for the bad product, but also for the even worse customer service!!!From now on , I would never buy a single panasonic product.

Comment: This is the most convenient, reliable and time-saving appliance I own. Works well for 2 people; I make about 4 hot drinks then add a liter of water and in just a few minutes you have hot water again. On the highest temp setting you can use the water to make ramen noodles, and this is the best setting if you need hot water quickly; you can always turn it down. The temp that works for me is the 190 degrees. You can buy a plastic lemon of juice and just squirt some into the pot with water to clean it for hard water deposits. This appliance is a bargain and encourages me to drink more white and green tea; hot water at the push of a button, it's fabulous.
