Summary: Perfect teakettle 2010-08-23
Comment: I've had this tea kettle for about six months. When I first received it I wasn't sure if I liked it because it didn't look exactly like the picutre. I purchased the blue one and in the picture there are definitely many more speckles than what I got. After a few days I decided I loved the look in my kitchen and kept it. It's not that it grew on me, it's really a nice kettle I just had to get used to it looking a little different than I thought it would. I get tons of compliments on it by everyone who comes over and it adds great color to my kitchen. I was looking for a kettle because I wanted something functional but also decorative enough to leave on my stove. This definitely met both of my wants.

It doesn't have a whistling mechanism but you can definitely hear the steam when it's ready. I use this on pretty much a daily basis and have had no problems with it at all.

Summary: Looks great but... 2010-08-17
Comment: I recently stopped drinking coffee and moved to tea and was looking for a nice affordable tea kettle that went with the rest of the things in our kitchen. When I saw this tea kettle it looked like it was a perfect fit. After having this tea kettle for a few months now and have made a lot of tea with it and have noted a few things. There is no sound or whistle on this kettle to alert you when water is ready. You have to be nearby and wait for the water to be ready. If you forget and let the water boil for too long the kettle is very hot and difficult to pick up by the handle as it is very hot. I do really like the way it looks though, I just wish it wasn't so hard to pick up when the water boils.

Summary: Nice style but poorly made 2010-07-20
Comment: I'm in the market for a new teakettle to replace my Paula Deen. I loved the style and color of the red kettle but was disappointed to have the red paint chipping off so quickly, within a few weeks of purchase. After a year of more paint lose and a loosening handle I also found the inside had rust rings forming. Needless to say, that kettle went out in the trash. Until I read the reviews on Amazon I thought mine was an isolated case of a poorly made teakettle. Apparently not, since others have mentioned very similar conditions. Now it's back to reading reviews and searching for the perfect kettle to sit on my stove.

Summary: Brightly Beautiful and Sturdy 2010-07-20
Comment: For over a year, I had been looking for a new teakettle. My two previous kettles, a square, modern-looking kettle from the maker, Bodum, and a glass, whistling kettle either didn't look right in my old kitchen or aggravated me (the high-pitched whistling of the glass kettle). The color of this Paula Deen kettle attracted me when I initially saw it in a J. C. Penney catalog but the price listed there seemed quite high and I decided I would make do with my old kettles. I happened to be on-line one afternoon and thought to check Amazon.com for Paula's kettle. The price listed on Amazon.com was much lower than Penney's and I received free shipping, too! I love the deep, rich, red color of the kettle and it seems well-crafted. I am enjoying my new purchase at teatime. I'm glad that I checked Amazon.com and compared prices before buying. I'm very satisfied with this kettle.

Summary: Great design, but poor quality... 2010-06-20
Comment: I had this kettle for a year. The design is great, but the materials were so cheap that after a year's use (I used it at least once a day), I decided to just throw it away. The part that the handle is attached to is aluminum and it is flimsy. It also didn't seem safe to continue using. I noticed that each time I wiped the inside dry, my white paper towel would become dark gray! Brown flakes would also develop at the bottom of the pot on occasion. I was very disappointed with this product and am looking for a new tea kettle as I write this review.
