Pfaltzgraff Orleans 2--Quart Enamel on Steel Whistling Tea Kettle

This a great looking tea pot (which is why I bought it). Unfortunately, it doesn't work as well as it looks. Water spills out on our stove if it is filled more than half way after a boil is reached and the spout makes it hard to pour boiling water with any precision - it's either a torrent or a dribble.

I bought the teakettle for it's looks. Unfortunately the performance lacks a bit. It needs to come to a full boil for almost 30 seconds for the whistle to "blow". It sounds like a train whistle. The pour spout is not very good - it dribbles water all over the counter. I need to pour it over the sink so as not to scald either myself or get water all over the counter.

I've had this kettle for a while now and it's fine. Not too easy to clean since it's enamel baked. But I've had no problems with it.
