Not an owner, I was considering the Pino kettles - and deciding between the Digital Express and Digital Pro - and came across this helpful information on the Pino website. It is current as of the date of this review, but since these reviews persist for years I suggest referring to their website for current information.

The main differences are as follows:
Digital Pro:
1. It is our second generation of Digital Kettles and has several improvements such as;
2. Thicker stainless steel used for the body of the Digital kettle Pro.
3. New and improved temperature controller.
4. Digital components have been moved to the base rather than the bottom of the kettle where they are exposed to much more heat.
5. Base and kettle connector have been redesigned and it is easier to put the kettle back on the base.
6. The sprout is plastic free in pro but Digital Express has a filter made from plastic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Almost perfect..., January 11, 2010

I've had the Pino Digital Express kettle for about 4 months now and it has been outstanding! It does exactly what the manufacturer claims; heats water to within a few degrees of the digitally set temperature. When you enjoy a range of teas like I do and realize how important it is to brew different teas at different temperatures, it is the perfect tool.

I do wish I could heat just one cup of water at a time. The manufacturer seems to prefer something closer to having 3 or more cups in at a time, to prevent damage to the heating coil I believe. Given that I prefer to use either bottled or filtered water and don't want to leave water in the kettle overnight between brewings, that's a bit of a problem. But the benefits far outweigh that drawback and I don't regret in the least getting this model. I checked on this issue before I brought it and the people I spoke to at Pino were very straightforward about it.

So I very definitely recommend this product. Being...Read more

I had really high hopes for this and really wish it had worked as advertised and as it seems to work for everyone else. It is hard to find a tea kettle with a temperature setting and one that does not have the water come in contact with plastic. But mine always heated to 190 degrees no matter what I set the temperature at. I eventually settled for always setting it at 160 and then when it beeped, I would just wait a few seconds for it to go to 170 and pour over my green tea. It was a pain because I could not leave it unattended (I'd come back to 190 something water) but it does heat very quickly so it was not too much of a hassle. Sadly, it stopped working about a month ago (right in the middle of exams when I needed it most) after only four months of use. It kept beeping constantly and would display erratic temperature readings. I tried it again about a week or so ago and now it does not even turn on. I expected better quality.
