Chinese Tea Kettle,

I received the product Pre-Dented--the metal is so thin if pressed it could collapse. The U.S. made kettle I had withstood three burnings--I don't think this one will go beyond its first. The kettle looks good and holds water but the whistle has fallen out and the metal cover on the handle has also fallen off.

This kettle whistles perfectly and so far it's holding up great. The handle gets hot but I can hold it long enough to pour the water without feeling like I'm getting burned.

The kettle was fine for the price, but the whistle was more of a hiss. The plastic was in flames the last time I used the kettle and left the room, and I nearly set the kitchen on fire. I accept that this was my own fault, but if you want to rely on the whistle, do not get this item. I've learned my lesson and have ordered an electric tea kettle with auto-shutoff. I gave two stars for boiling water, but no more because people who buy whistling tea kettles generally want the whistle to work.
