Amazon.com Review
Ideally suited to preparing tea for two, this compact whistling kettle from Revere measures a modest 6 by 5-1/2 inches and holds up to 6 cups. Shiny stainless steel comprises its body while the base includes an added layer of copper cladding to enhance heat distribution. Attached with two screws, the black phenolic handle stays cool to the touch and fits comfortably in hand. A small button located at its top controls the spout's flip-top and ceases the whistle. Cleaning the exterior can be accomplished with a damp cloth but accessing the inner chamber is difficult as the only opening is through its spout. As a result, it is best to only heat water to avoid the need for cleaning. This product comes with a 1-year manufacturer's warranty. -- Amy Arnold
Comment: I ordered the 6-cup version of this tea kettle based on the number of people who said that the handle did not get hot.
THEY LIED!!! If you boil a nearly-full pot, you cannot touch the handle, it's so hot!!!
Also it seems to take a long time to boil 6-cups of water.
I don't know if there are any better tea kettles out there, but I do NOT recommend this one.

Summary: Just like Mom's old teakettle when I was a kid! 2010-02-25
Comment: I've lived with/endured a number of cheap enameled teakettles since I was a newlywed (back in the early 1980s). They all had removable lids, which made them easy to fill; however, they all tended to be on the small side, and would eventually develop thick hard-water deposits on the inside (and those hard-water deposits were the one thing keeping the cheap, thin metal they were made out of from burning through and leaking!). When the handle of the latest cheap teakettle melted/fell off after less than 2 weeks, I'd finally had enough. The RevereWare teakettles were the best-rated of the less-expensive teakettles on Consumer Search, and they came in 3 different sizes. This 3.5 quart size most closely resembled what I remembered of my mom's old teakettle from when I was a little girl, so I ordered it. I love the large capacity! It's great for multiple cups of coffee/tea/single-serve ramen noodles in a cup/etc., and it's also a good size for keeping boiled water on hand when there's a boil order in town. The spout is slightly less convenient for filling the teakettle than a lid would have been, but it's a nice large spout (I stick a finger inside to feel the water level when refilling). I haven't owned this long enough yet to have to scrub the copper bottom clean; however, since it's the only piece of copper-bottom cookware I own at this point, it shouldn't be too tedious to clean just one thing. Highly recommended!

Summary: Large capacity teakettle 2010-02-25
Comment: This is the largest capacity teakettle I good find and at the best price. It seems durable--we had one of these years ago that held up for a long time (with daily use). The whistle is not too loud and shrill. The first one arrived with the whistler detached and I could not get it stay in place. Amazon promptly sent out a new one and gave easy directions for returning the defective one at their cost. I was very pleased with the service.

Summary: Fabulous Tea Kettle 2010-01-28
Comment: This Revere Copper Bottom Teakettle is the best. It reminds me of my childhood and the kind of Teakettle that was used in our home. I love the fact that it holds a lot of water and stays hot for along time. The whistle is terrific (as you can hear it througout the house). I drink multiple cups of tea a day and this is by far the most wonderful teakettle I have ever owned. I am so gratefult o have it.
