Comment: This is a nice size and functions well. The only drawback I've seen is that you have to push on the trigger to close it.

Summary: A Sad Disappointment 2008-04-05
Comment: I was in the market for a tea kettle because I transitioned to french press coffee and tea rather than brewed coffee using an electric coffee maker.

My mother always had a Revere tea kettle in the house, and I thought it was that perfect blend of "Made in America" and wonderful reliability as well as good looks.

I've had my Revere 8-Cup Stainless Steel Bottom Easy Fill Tea Kettle for almost a month. During this time, the neck has expanded so badly that water dribbles all over the counter. I removed the neck and attempted to tighten it using the little screw. No luck. The neck still has a huge gap between the flimsy plastic.

In addition, the kettle seems quite flimsy and isn't heavy like my mother's kettle.

I am sorely disappointed in Revere. Is the Made in China moniker to blame?

Regardless, I will return the kettle and bid farewell to another product that has outsourced tradition to China.

Lest the reader think I am "anti-import", I have driven Japanese autos for 25 years and their quality has been impeccable. Increasingly I have been appalled at the quality of products that carry the label "Made in China".

Shame on Revere.

Summary: Boy does it whistle! 2006-07-27
Comment: I have had this kettle for a few months and I am very happy with my purchase. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the twist off top for cleaning can be a little stubborn. No leaks, no hot water on the handle, no returns!

Summary: Don't buy this kettle 2006-02-13
Comment: well, it's my first return to Amazon, followed by my second. This kettle blows steam out the edges of that big opening right onto the handle. Picking it up is risky business. It leaks water. I used to have a Revere kettle I loved, this one is nothing like it.
