Amazon.com Review
Baby boomers and maybe even some Gen-Xers probably remember their mothers using Revere’s classic stainless-steel cookware with copper bottoms to prepare all the family meals. The "it" cookware of the ‘50s and ‘60s, Revere now has plenty of competition with all the new manufacturers and innovations in cookware construction. However, for those looking for the Revere cookware from their youth, the Copper Ellipse line comes close, using the same time-tested materials and offering a sturdy product that is still light enough to handle easily.
This 7-piece set includes a 10-inch skillet for sautéing shrimp or stir-frying chicken. A 6-quart stockpot with a lid is ideal for simmering hearty soups or braising beef for stew. Two covered saucepans, in 1-quart and 2-quart sizes, round up the collection and are useful for cooking rice, heating up smaller portions of seafood gumbo, or reducing a dessert syrup.
The bodies of these pots and pans are made of high-quality 18/10 stainless steel and the bottoms are all made of encapsulated copper, which is the best metal for heat conductivity. Like the originals, Copper Ellipse pans have a rounded shape, making it easier to get in the corners for more thorough cleaning. The updated stainless-steel handles are rolled for a more comfortable grip and a contemporary look. Lids are constructed of a heavy-weight stainless steel and have modern-looking, easy-to-grip loop handles. All pans are oven-safe up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. This cookware should be handwashed and the copper bottoms will require polishing in order to maintain their brilliant luster. Copper Ellipse cookware is covered under a limited 25-year warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

I bought this cook ware about six months ago and extremely happy with it. I have usd other brands of stainless steel, but they do not compare with this. The copper clad heats up almost instantly, which cooking a great experience. I even enjoy cleaning the copper after using.

Beautiful and Solid, just a bit heavy for an old foggie like me., March 11, 2006

I bought this starter set for my son and his new bride. They look beautiful, and seem to be well made. I was actualy impressed by the quality when I opened the box. I have been shopping for new cookware for myself for over a year, and these are fine quality. I have problems lifting and they would be a bit heavy for me, but the kids are young, so no problem. My son reported back that they cook wonderfully,(when did he start cooking?) Both he and his wife were impressed. I think they would last you a lifetime. Very well constructed nice copper bottoms, solid rivits, tight fitting lids. A real good product for the money.

melting pot??, April 6, 2006

Any empty pot on a hot stove is a hazard. The melting bottom problem reported by another reviewer is user error, not a product defect.
These pots are terrific. Nicely designed and weighted, attractive, and durable. Comparable in quality to high-end brands, but MUCH more economical!
